Rubber Plant

The Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica) has thick, polished leaves that look expensive with almost no effort. One of the best picks for a first big plant.

Care Notes

• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light. Tolerates less light better than most figs.
• Water: When the top inch of soil is dry — roughly every 1–2 weeks.
• Tip: Wipe the leaves monthly with a damp cloth — they shine and breathe better.
• Pets: Mildly toxic sap — keep away from pets.
